Services were conducted today for Thurman W. Long, 81, a lifelong resident of Crawfordsville, at Sarasota, FL. He died Monday. Born near Hillsboro, he was associated with Indiana Farmers' Mutual Insurance at Crawfordsville and Indianapolis for many years. Surviving are his wife, Helen; a son, Richard of Indianapolis; two granddaughters; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Starnes of Crawfordsville and Mrs. June Campbell of Rossville and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Reed Long.

Note: He died 11 November 1971 and was born 13 August 1890 buried Waynetown Masonic Cemetery, Waynetown, Montgomery County, Indiana

Source: The obituary is from a collection by Fauniel Hershberger, saved the 1950's, 60's and 70's. She was a life long resident of Fountain County Indiana.  The collection is now housed at Crawfordsville District Public Library.

Memorial services for Thurman W. Long, a former resident of Crawfordsville and Farmer's Mutual Insurance agent, who died Oct. 11 (sic - Nov) at his home in Sarasota, Fla., will be conducted at 4 p.m. Sunday at Northwood Christian Church at Indianapolis. - jlr
